LOVING FOOTSTEPS
The Many Pastoral Care Ministries at Saint John’s Church
St. John's lay pastoral care group formed in the year 2000 and officially became known as "Loving Footsteps" in 2001. Individuals volunteer their time and talent to support and nurture those in our congregation through multiple ministries. These include Visitation: to visit, listen, care and pray together; Telephone calls:to keep in touch; Meals, to nourish and give comfort; Transportation: to enable those who cannot drive to hear the word of God on Sunday or to enjoy events with our parish family; and Cards, to bring a ray of sunshine into someone's life, reminding them that they are loved.
Another ministry is the presentation of The Five Wishes film and booklet which helps your family know in greater detail your wishes should you become seriously ill.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry provides knitted or crocheted shawls and lap blankets to those who are ill or experiencing a life change.
The Baby Blanket Ministry knits or crochets baby blankets that are given to ECS (Episcopal Community Services) who then provide them to children who are being placed into foster care.
GriefShare is a grieving support ministry is provided twice yearly for a twelve week walk with those who have suffered a loss. Meetings are held on Monday evenings from 7:15 til 8:45PM. Our next program begins on March 3rd.
Why do we identify ourselves as "Loving Footsteps"? We are all on a journey with Jesus walking by our side. You see, He carries us and His feet are our feet too. Thanks be to God for all the busy feet at St. John's.
Our meetings are held the first Friday of the month at 9:30 AM in the parish hall. Won't you join us?

"I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble," says the Lord. (Proverbs 4:11-12)
